It should be pointed out for those who don't go and read the article... Nicki's verse on Monster is the only one they talk about for Monster and it is good to know that her verse pushed that song up as far as it did.
I honestly think Nicki's Monster verse and the critical acclaim it got were two major factors that influenced the direction she went with for Roman Reloaded (in addition to the success of Super Bass obv.). Take any of her verses from the rap side and, honestly, they feel like they are in the same lane as Monster. Maybe not production-wise but lyrically. I love RR and I know Nicki enjoyed making it and living the era out, but I wish the acclaim wouldn't have had as big of an impact on her as I like to believe it had.
Congrats to all the artists that placed tho. I have to check some of them out.
