Her tweet count still stands at 16,997 though... Someone could have hacked into it or it could be a bug.

they aren't deleted, you can still see the picture tweets and get direct links to them.

They deleted 3,000 tweets
I went to the cached page of her twitter and it shows the most recent tweets like when she dyed her hair red/eyebrows too and she has 19,343 tweets.
Now she has 16K
