I was talking about a more "ratchet" sound and performance style if that makes any sense. Piafs music was classy by any means. I can imagine Gaga playing with and twisting that image.

Maybe she'll incorporate it into the Jazz album with Tony? That seems more plausible.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if the album doesn't sound as obviously "EDM" as we're expecting. Not in a ZEDD/Madeon way, at least.

The urban/trap vibes, the j-pop flavours, the Piaf samples, the Whitesnake guitarist, the Spanky drums...it all sounds far more eclectic and reasonably experimental. I suppose it makes sense if she's making "ARTPOP", i.e. combining "ART" (non-traditional pop elements) with "POP" (traditional pop elements).

Who knows. I just don't feel it's going to be as black and white as a lot of people are expecting.

I was also just thinking about EDM Elements with different vibes. I'm not expecting a "Clarity" from her i loves nicely mixed vibes but I just hope that it won't turn out as a mess like it kinda was on BTW the album.

I think I know why she's going with some J-Pop flavors. Japan supports her more strongly than any other nation in the world right now, and she's been there enough times to become interested in their culture and the music they make. I think that she knows how strongly they support her, too - ARTPOP could potentially become one of the biggest western releases there in several years, if BTW's success is any indication.

I kind of agree with you. Especially with what she's been saying lately doesn't really fit the "rave" little sister of TFM she's been making it seem to be. But we will see. I thought BTW was less rock than she made it seem to be.
