You can't really stop a teen's/kid's itch to get on the internet. No matter how you stop them they will always try to find a way. I'm really grateful that my dad doesn't know how to use a computer though, that way I got an automatic freedom so he doesn't give a crap whatever I do . The more you take something away the more they'll try to obtain it, so don't be too strict .

I know I can't stop them from watching por-n or anything like that but they're going to need to do that privately.

It's hard. I was on the internet at a very young age but when I was 12 the only website I would go on was neopets There was no twitter, facebook, youtube, etc, then for me to get messed up with so that made it so much easier. Social networking sites make me kind of uncomfortable so I'd say I would allow them to get a facebook or whatever when they start high school around 15 years old. Call me strict if you want but there's so much cyberbullying and things like that, that go on these sites and it's not good.

Kids are snorting coke at 15, and you want to control what they do on the computer at 17, a year before they become LEGAL ADULTS??

On their own? Probably like 12-13.
I mean, I'll supervise them and let them on websites like Neopets and Webkinz and all those kind of things beforehand, but we all know what's out there on the internet

I could care less about a phone. They can have one around the same age so that they actually learn to use it. If you give a kid a phone when they're like 17, they're gonna be so far behind

My kids will live online. The "net" will take care of them. I will be but a surrogate father. We won't tell my wife about "the power," however. She'll be too busy in the kitchen to be worried about it, anyway.
