I would give anything to just hear all the songs that didn't make the cut. I'm most interested in the songs that didn't make Red--she's basically said she had an entire album done and then decided to work with more producers and stuff in the second year. I want to hear all those first year songs so bad. I wish there was a way.
I don't know any specifics of the Sony deal. I just know that she was in a development deal and that she was a hired writer, I believe. So she wrote songs and then they demoed them, probably to shop around for other artists. All those songs legally belong to Sony though, so when she walked away--those songs stayed with them.
