During the first few seconds of his first broadcast on KFRY News in Bismarck, North Dakota, A.J. Clemente mumbled out the words that most people say at the start of each work day: "...****in' ****."
It only took those two words for A.J. Clemente to become my favorite North Dakota news anchor! A.J.'s co-anchor tried to forget the "****in' ****" in the room and she went on with the broadcast by asking A.J. to tell the viewers a little about himself. A.J. kept being the articulate serious journalist he is by saying, "Um...I'm used to..um...being from the East Coast." Best answer ever.
Surprisingly, the station wasn't filled with calls from viewers demanding that A.J. be promoted immediately. A bunch of ****in' ****-haters complained and he got suspended on his first day.
It's a good thing that KFRY suspended his ass, because now A.J. Clemente is free to replace Matt Lauer on Today! That mole and that sign-on catchphrase are way too big for Bismarck. Get him, NBC!
