Firstly, you're assuming I even voted. I did not vote, so we can just disregard that now.
Secondly, doesn't the very definition of a classic seem to mean that it should be covered? It's a classic for a reason, it will remain classic regardless. It can be covered and it will. It's inevitable. Look at so many classic pop songs from the 20s-60s. Almost every popular artists were recording versions of each others songs. It's fine. It doesn't take away from the song's legacy (if its good it builds it, if it's bad it stays the same) nor does it take away from the original artist.
