Celeb News: Seth MacFarlane Asked to Host Oscars Again

Seth MacFarlane has been asked to return as the host for the 2014 Academy Awards, sources exclusively reveal to JustJared.com.

The 39-year-old Family Guy creator hosted this year’s ceremony to acclaim from many critics, but also caused controversy with some of the jokes he made throughout the show. Despite the controversy, the ratings for the 2013 Oscars ceremony were up significantly over the year before with 40.3 million viewers tuning in.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who hired Seth for this year’s show, will be returning to helm next year’s show as well.

“After defending his performance, the producers reached out to Seth and invited him back to host the show again,” sources close to the comedian tell JustJared.com exclusively. “He’s not sure if he’s going to do it, but he has to decide within the next couple of weeks.”

Seth previously tweeted that he would not host the Oscars if he were asked to do it again. We can’t wait to find out if he accepts the gig!

I personally found all of his jokes funny.
But he did say he didn't want to host again; the pressure was too much. Would he go back on his word? I think the Oscars should give the dynamic duo, Tina and Amy a chance.

Uhm, good for the sake of ratings because he's a magnet for sexually violent 13-yo white boys, but bad for the overall quality of Oscars gala. They can make it not boring in so many ways, but they choose the easiest and most primitive
