They are primarily album tracks, you know tracks included on an album to accentuate the album's concept, I know it's difficult to grasp as a Rihanna fan because she just puts out albums so she can keep pouring out singles. Katy took a risk with releasing TOY as single, and even though a #29 peak (?) is bad for her sickening standards right now, it still widened her fanbase a lot, which was primarily its purpose as a single.

Lol @ Katy releasing nine singles from one album her last era though.

That was one of a kind and you know it. Rihanna releases an album every November so she can push out singles (3 or 4 per era) non-stop. Katy is currently on a break, which is something Rihanna has never done? Rih is all about keeping the stream of singles coming without it ever having to stop, even in between albums.

eight singles*, and it's not shade to state that Teenage Dream didn't have a cohesive theme. At least her album that didn't have a theme lasted more than a few months, unlike other pop girls.
Lol compare Rude Boy's demo to the actual version; there are barely any changes. Rihanna has never heavily contributed to her artistry, no shade.

Glad Katy didn't get her hands on Only Girl. Though I would have preferred if the song went to someone like Bey or Xtina; the chorus would have sounded better (especially live) with someone who can actually belt.
