Jai Paul has released his debut album on Bandcamp – you can stream the album below and download it here.
The self-titled album was uploaded onto the site yesterday (April 13) to no fanfare or publicity. The sixteen track album has no song titles but track seven is his cover of Jennifer Paige's 'Crush', 'Jasmine' is track nine and 'BTSTU' is track 16.
The singer/producer is signed to XL Recordings, label home of Adele, and it is currently unclear if the label approved the surprise release of the album, which was originally rumoured to be titled 'Rayners Lane'.
Not much is known about Jai Paul, who has so far kept himself out of the public eye. Having given little to no interviews so far, he has kept himself out of the media glare and this shock release of his debut album will only heighten the mystery surrounding him.
Paul broke onto the scene in 2007 with the demo release of his track 'BTSTU'. The song has since been sampled by artists such as Beyonce and Drake, earning the UK singer worldwide notoriety.

UPDATE
Jai Paul says newly released album is an illegal leak
Quote:
Hotly tipped newcomer Jai Paul has said that a record purporting to be his debut album that appeared online over the weekend is in fact an illegal leak.
The self-titled album was uploaded to Bandcamp on Saturday and made available to buy. Its sudden appearance was widely reported by music websites, not least because its arrival seemed to have nothing to do with XL Recordings, the label to which Jai Paul is signed.
The 16-track album has no song titles but contains two songs that he has made previously available – Jasmine and BTSTU.
In a Twitter posting on Monday, Jai Paul said: "Demos on bandcamp were not uploaded by me, this is not my debut album. Please don't buy."
Amazing "album" but sounds unmastered . "Jasmine" was one of my favorite songs of 2012. XL should stop investing in Adele and focus more on him. I want him to be big but this is taking way too long.
Update: It’s worth pointing out that XL has yet to publicly acknowledge the album, which could either suggest something fishy afoot or simply be keeping slyly consistent with Paul’s atypical “way of going about things.” Crack in the Road, the blog that discovered the release’s existence, has linked the upload to Jai Paul’s email address. In any case, the album’s origins and officialness seem like something of a technicality: for the first time in history you can own 40 minutes of Jai Paul’s music, and Jai Paul seems to be getting paid for it.
XL label owner Richard Russell said, “The way [Jai Paul is] going about things is, I think for many, baffling. But it’s how he’s going about things, and as such it can only be right because it’s his way of doing it.”
I think He likes to do things his way and maybe he does not like having to go through people to get his things out?? I hope he has not retired and that he goes the indie route sometimes label's are not for everyone..
Really strange but I want to know how XL are going to react?
Thank you so much for posting this! I was convinced his album was never going to see the light of day. i must admit, those are some really fishy circumstances as to how the album was uploaded...

It's kool sis.....
I'm just happy we have new music from him, he's is so talented and his music is out this world. I hope this is not the last time we hear from him <3
Jai Paul leaked this himself but pretended that he didn't so he could avoid the sample clearing. Mess. Think about it, who would steal a laptop and only post the ******, unmastered demos? Great PR stunt, though.

XL really needed to promote the hell outta him... They failed to do so.
But I feel like they have not really started his promo yet as they are still finishing the Album. I know they will promote him right as he's talent and their's some demand for his music, It's all about Jai too if he even want's to promote.. like till this day we have not seen one performance or video =/.
To think he only tweeted today for the first time because of the leak he likes to have that mysterious let the music speak for it'self vibe.
