3D will add some extra to box-office, but I don't think much. 3D usually accounts less when a movie's TAs are older moviegoers. Statistics shown that older audiences are less willing to pay for premium 3D tickets. Moreover, it also have to fight for 3D screens with Star Trek and Iron Man 3. (Personally think Baz Luhrmann would look fantastic in 3D)
The predictions of the opening of TGG range from 20 million - 30 million, which is not bad, but not Huge or Big regarding its budget and profile.
But I just know it's gonna flop. The US really seems to hate her, save for her very tight fanbase here. I really hope it at least charts in the Top 20, but I won't get my hopes up. At the very least, it's more flawless music from the kween.
