Britney's voice, I think that it is VERY underrated. People have this distorted opinion that if you don't have a super powerful voice with a large range that means that you can't sing or are just an average singer. This is completely inaccurate Some of the greatest vocal coaches and music producers in the world have said that Britney actually has a fantastic voice. It's not her range or her power, it's the attitude and emotion in her voice. It's the tone she uses.

And it's true. To me there is very few other singers that have such a range of emotions in their voices. Britney can change her voice depending on the song she is singing. When you listen to 'Toxic' you hear fire and feistyness and total attitude. When you listen to 'Everytime' you hear fragility and sadness. When you listen to 'Criminal' you hear desperation and despair. When you listen to 'Circus' you hear power and confidence. And the list goes one for her entire discography.

Britney doesn't have strong vocals like Beyonce, Mariah, Celine, Adele, etc, etc,..

That being said, she can still sing and she does well! Her voice is unique and distinctive. It's also very versatile as well. She can sing for various genres unlike some stars who don't sound right if they stray from a certain sound.

I think this is along the lines of what you're saying.

I think she has a brilliant pop voice, yes but she just isn't that great of a singer, overall.
I love her tone but she needs to learn how to use and control it properly.

It's cool, I didn't many people to agree with me. I know that people still have their prejudices about her voice. They probably didn't even read the OP. I said it was the EMOTION and TONE that she sings with that makes her voice great, not her range or ability.

She doesn't have this really great voice, but it's not terrible. It's just altered and used for songs that are way below it's level. Her singing happy birthday to L.A. Reid is a good example of it not being completely terrible.

Her demos are better than her album tracks, vocally.

She has a voice built for Pop music. She isn't going to belt out lyrics like Mariah, Christina, or Adele. Her voice is infectious and catchy. It sticks in your head.

I think Britney still doesn't realize the potential of her voice and it's evident that she doesn't know how to use it as well as it can be used. However, I do think she has an amazing voice for pop music and can certainly elevate material. Notice how most of her covers end up being better than the original song? I think that proves that she really does have a great voice, for what it's worth, or at least I consider a great voice.

Either way, I always found her voice pleasing. She never seems to be doing TOO much to the point where it becomes annoying, like some artists do.
