Adam Levine, Macy Gray, and others in drug scandal
Quote:
In a true case of "sex, drugs and rock and roll", Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine has been called out for allegedly smoking marijuana in a lawsuit targeted at Universal Music Publishing Group's Santa Monica offices.
A unnamed security guard claims that Universal Music knowingly allowed its stars to run amok, use drugs and generally make for an unpleasant work environment.
The filing says UMPG was "infiltrated with pervasive drug use where you could smell marijuana seeping from various offices and openly used in common areas, and lounges".
When the security guard complained about conditions, she was reportedly told, "It's Adam Levine. You know from Maroon 5 ... He can do whatever he wants ... If he wants to come to the lobby and do a line of cocaine on the floor, it's okay."
Singer Macy Gray and rapper MC Ren, as well as the entourages of T.I. and Jamie Foxx, are also named in the suit, which alleges that "artists and high-profile celebrities began visiting the premises with drugs in hand and oftentimes offering drugs to Plaintiff, which she refused".
But, according to the security guard, the drugs were only part of a nasty equation that also included "condoms plastered in the men's bathroom while on patrol" and, according to RadarOnline, threats of violence and prejudicial attacks.
UMPG denied the allegations in a statement to RadarOnline, saying, "While we cannot comment on the allegations between the plaintiff and her employer, we can say that the allegations as they relate to Universal Music Group are absurd." The lawsuit is pending.
Do stars have carte blanche access to drugs while companies look the other way? How do you feel about this hairy topic?
