even though i feel that his coming out was strategic, I wouldn't go as far as calling him unknown or struggling. He had a mixtape that was probably heard and spun more in my state that all of Adam Lambert's radio impressions doubled, and he had a writing placement with Beyonce by that time.
the simple fact that he was more respected for his work before he came out, allowed his 'coming out' to be more well received by the gp.
