I remembered when I discovered Gaga:

It was early January of 2009. My older sister was taking me to the mall so I can buy some new clothes. Well she was playing "Just Dance" and I asked her who was singing the song. "Lady Gaga", she replied.

My immediate reaction: "Is she black? Well this song's catchy, but she sounds like she has no talent. She's not going to last long."

A few months later, Poker Face was all over the radio and just like that, I was a fan of that song, too. Then I looked her up on YouTube and saw that not only she can sing, but she can also play the piano.

THAT'S when I was hooked.

I first discovered Gaga summer 2008 after someone posted Just Dance on MySpace(!). I thought she was Swedish for some reason.

Those were the days when you could count the Gaga videos on one hand. As a fan, watching her blow up has been incredible.

I do think she should have some sort of 'F*ck you, I'm Lady Gaga' anthem (a legit one, not Cake). Not in an obnoxious way, more witty and "fierce".

I loved the "you chew beef, I wear meat" line in Cake, though. More of that, please.

How is Joanne her recovery going?

If they're are any surprise (indie) collaborations on this album, I hope one of them is with Hurts.

A friend of mine happened to be a big Just Dance fan really early on, so she sent me The Fame to listen to a month or so after it came out I was a fan for sure then, and in early 2009 when the LoveGame video came out, the moment I saw that bitch writhing around in diamonds and spreading her legs between those two guys I knew I was a STAN What an amazing few years it's been! Gaga has achieved so much.

On an unrelated note, does anyone else ever wish Americano had been a single just for the music video? I was listening to it today and the flawless ending reminded me how I used to envision the Telephone sequel, with Gaga hopping the border to escape the police ("Don't you try to catch me")
