Buttshots are a continual thing you get, not a one-time thing. They're also not as expensive as you might think. Nicki clearly was not poor during her mixtapes era, and hasn't been since her teen years if she could afford a Mercedes at 18, so she could easily have afforded the buttshots along with her teeth.

Henry, you tried that! Nicki got ha shots the end of 2009. Right before she hit mainstream. She did pads under leggings (that's why all she wore in 09 was leggins and tights) to show transition. She went mainstream right after 5 star bitch.
