Discussion: Why do Monsters split TF/TFM Monster Sales?

When talking about album sales drop? But combine them when we are talking about our faves biggest selling albums?

On a thread talking about sophomore drops some Monsters say that sales of The Fame/Monster should be separated but when we are talking about album sales they combine them together

Are the Monsters doing this for their own benefit?

To be honest, they should be separated because TFM was a completely different era. New sound, new image, new tour. Everything was practically different and more "evolved". I personally don't associate The Fame Monster with The Fame at all. The only real similarity here is "The Fame" and the inclusion of both albums in 1 in certain countries.
They're two different albums.

Because the EP is a separate release and it's illogical to compare a rereleased album to one that had only it's initial LP release.

Well since The Fame sold 16 Million and Born This Way sold 7 Million, Gaga would have a 56 Percent drop whereas when it's split 10.5 M & 5.5 M Gaga's would be in the 48% range which is still considerably huge. They want those few percentages out!

It isn't fair to compare BTW sales to TF(M) since one of them was re-released with a completely new album (the AOTY nod confirms it) and was boosted by a new whole era, singles, performances... So either you don't or you have to use logic to understand the difference.

Still, TF+TF(M) were counted together in most charts (and it's quite difficult to split them because of this) so that's how receipts based on those datas will look like. Do you split sales from BTD and Paradise? Animal and Cannibal?

Lol because they're all hypocrites (you already stated it in the OP). They do it for convenience.

*Somebody brings up her decline from TF(M) to Born This Way*
"The Fame and The Fame Monster are 2 different releases. TF - 7 million, TFM - 7 million, Born This Way - 7 million so where's the decline, sis ???"

Not all monsters are the same. Rereleases and EPs (especially like TFM, and Cannibal) are a big gray area for stans and haters.Some are going to lump sales with the previous album, some won't.

And it goes for all stanbases who do it.
