The title track best demonstrates WHAT was innovative about that album. So I'm not understanding how what you're saying would work.
"Breakdown" does. Ignore the melody, harmonies, vocals, etc. It's specifically the
beat that matters. I wish I could post videos and frames but as I stated before
It's not even important though. OIAM and AYTS are innovative for the same reason: stutter beats. How at the end of a measure or a phrase, the drum beat, which was slow and simple, suddenly changes and increases in pace. It literally sounds like someone stuttering. This phenomenon occurs in both songs. It also occurs in "Beep Me 911". Don't forget, beat-boxing and bird-chirping sound effects. That was just Timbaland's style at the time. And you know how influential it was so I don't have to explain that.
"Breakdown", "Say My Name", "Bills Bills Bills", "Get on the Bus", etc.
My point is, AYTS and OIAM contain the same innovation - AYTS was not the first to showcase it. OIAM, followed by songs on Missy's debut were.
