I've been waiting to hear the contestants speak candidly about Nicki, after those weaklings Ears and Paul made their comments.

Just because she's a legend doesn't mean she's a good judge. Nicki is a better judge imo, but Mariah's career is (obviously) more respectable.

Mariah is a music icon, of course they respect her.

They're just saying that they respect Nicki's judging style, which is very understandable. They're not all Paul and Ears—some of them appreciate the criticism Nicki gives!

She's brutally honest. Which is exactly what they need.

I've seen a lot of people criticising Nicki for the way she strays away from the vocal factor and goes for style and fashion tips in her critiques, but a lot of people don't realise that the competition is to find someone who is marketable for the masses. She's brutally honest, too, and she talks about the vocal technique enough to get her point across. I'm glad the contestants are starting to see how helpful the critiques are in the long run.

Yeah, her eye rolling and clear infatuation with herself must be really helpful. I could see why the contestants would respect her so much.

Couldn't watch more than a few episodes this season because of Mariah, and thought Nicki would've been a nice addition to the panel if there wasn't some "feud" (real or not) going on that makes it impossible for her to talk without being interrupted or criticized. Nicki is the most currently-relevant judge Idol has ever had, so it's a bit ridiculous that her opinions are being criticized. She obviously knows what she's doing.

This season sucks. Watching the first few episodes of The Voice and seeing the great chemistry the panel made me realize how much Idol has slipped.

I completely agree. The wave of hate Nicki always gets has collided with this "feud" to set her up for more conflict with the other judges and more contempt coming from the TV audience.

She was 100% right to call out the rest of the panel in this case, and was still picked on because of it--so very high school.

Too bad the General Public disagrees.

She's honest but sometimes she's unprofessional and rude.

I love Mariah, but Nicki is by far the better judge.

I don't think the public give Nicki enough credit because her reputation overshadows her with some people, but more and more are coming into the light
