I think discounts on US iTunes will become a standard this now. In the UK and Ireland, every WEEK iTunes discounts a new batch of songs, a mixture of old songs and current songs (and on top of that record labels discount songs often too). I reckon they might start doing that in the US too.

They've already been doing that for years. It's usually recent hits though.
