Will the methods of selecting people to go to war by picking a birth date be re-introduced after new threats against the U.S and other countries have risen?
I personally believe it will not happen in my lifetime, what are your thoughts?
I don't think it would have the support of the people, I think there would be mass protests with people burning their draft cards like many decades ago. The only way I could see it having support is if there was massive public support for a war, like Afghanistan and Iraq after 9/11...But we all know how THAT turned out. I hope after that we've all learned to take a skeptical look at war and not be drawn into patriotic fever.
Call me cynical, but I think most modern American wars are about money and power. I would flee to Canada if I was drafted and not have one regret.
