Which company is more creative with their animation? Pixar or Disney

Very few visionaries come along that are as brilliant as Walt.

Well technically speaking, I'd have to say Pixar. Most, if not all, of their movies are original and creative. Disney (especially early Disney) largely based their movies on stories from Grimm's Fairy Tales.

I was going to say something similar to this. The majority of Disney's most beloved films are technically adaptations (only a few of them are derived from Grimm though). They're well done adaptations, but Pixar's are original creations.

However, I prefer Disney over Pixar.

Mmm, probably have to go with Disney overall. Even if they've had long bouts of stagnancy, the variety and innovation in both their film's stories and animation technique is really hard to challenge, and it laid the foundation for American feature-length animation.

Pixar's pretty creative/ingenius in their own right, but in comparison to Disney's entire ouevre I think there's a lot less variety (which could at least be partially a result of how young Pixar is, comparatively) in terms of story/character type, visuals, and defying convention. I don't think Pixar would ever be ballsy enough to put out something as risky as Fantasia was back in its time, for example.

That being said, I definitely anticipate new Pixar releases (although less and less as more and more unnecessary sequels get greenlit) a lot more than most any new Disney release. One is clearly better than the other at this juncture in time, IMO.

Cars 1.0 was ****. And now we're getting PLANES for release in theaters! Ugh.

I know $4B in merchandising revenue is a super-tempting cash cow that may just be too hard to pass up, but at least try to maintain some semblance of creative integrity...

Pixar sh*ts on disney tbh.... Every Pixar movie is super creative. Toy Story, Monster's Inc, Finding Nemo, Up, a Bugs Life, Incredibles, Wall-E, Brave ... not to mention all the shorts. It's not even a question imo.
