This was shocking and surprising news to wake up to, I will definitely take it! I think she will do extremely well on this show, and her character seems fun.
I hope she gets the same press Miley did

I don't think she will do the promo stops that Miley did for it BUT she really should, it would be a good chance for her to promote herself, the book, and her episode all at the same time, her team should really use this as a way to get her back out there to the people. Thank God she is finally appearing on a highly rated show as well.

As much as I love Raising Hope I agree, Two and a Half Men is a lot more well known. I would just like an interview on set, a magazine or even a talk show appearance. All three would be nice.
I don't want this role to go unnoticed, she didn't even do an on set interview on RH

The pieces of Two and a Half Men‘s season finale puzzle are falling into place.
On the heels of our scoop that Taxi‘s Marilu Henner will guest-star in the Season 10 finale as the grandmother of a young woman Walden (played by Ashton Kutcher) is dating, TVLine can now confirm exclusively that erstwhile Lizzie McGuire Hilary Duff has been tapped to play the ingenue in question, Stacey.
As we pointed out in the Henner piece, Walden ends up [SPOILER ALERT] falling for Gram herself.
Men‘s season finale is scheduled to air May 9.
In addition to Lizzie McGuire, Duff’s TV credits include an arc on Gossip Girl and guest stints on Raising Hope and Community.

This is gonna be good! I don't watch 2.5 Men but I'll obviously watch it because of Hil. The episode sounds really interesting and entertaining.
I'm excited to see her work with Ashton again. And she said she's playing a drunk girl. Lol.
I really hope she does tie in promotional appearances for the episode and True like some of y'all said.

Why has a thread for this not been made yet?
So excited about the news. This was completely unexpected. And on the season finale too.
I am overjoyed that she's finally doing a TV appearance on a top-rated show with a large audience too.

Best known for her role on Lizzie McGuire, former teen star Hilary Duff is no stranger to TV, but has been MIA from the small screen for quite a while.
Other than random, every once in a while appearances on shows like Gossip Girl, Community and Raising Hope, Duff hasn't done much in terms of acting since she tied the knot with NHL player Mike Comrie, then gave birth to their first mini me, son Luca Cruz Comrie, last March.
Whether it was by choice because she wanted to focus on mommyhood or by force because no contracts were coming her way, we're not really sure, but Duff's break from the spotlight has been quite lengthy and it's about time she make a comeback if she intends to continue her career in Hollywood, rather than just keep birthing little people.
But will a stint on Two and a Half Men's season 10 finale be enough?
Duff has been signed on as an interest for Ashton Kutcher's character and she Tweeted more deets this afternoon, revealing, "So excited to be joining the cast of @TwoHalfMen_CBS this week! I get to play a crazy drunk girl, funnnn!!!"
It sure does sound like fun and we hope you're more memorable than all the other chicks that show has seen walk through its doors!
this is a good read, I agree with everything.

I was just telling Avery how she is America's Sweetheart. Both Jon's & Marilu's tweets confirm that. She just really needs to be more active for the rest of the GP to remember this.

Is it just me or does her comeback seem to be slowly picking up steam? The guest starring role on Raising Hope, the meetings in February, the photoshoot(?) last week & now this guest starring role on a huge network TV show? I HATE getting my hopes up, but I can't help but feel optimistic. She seems to be really trying.
I'm a little disappointed that we never found out what she did for Nick though...
