Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, and Katy Perry's sounds are pretty much direct descendents of P!nk's M!ssundaztood sound, which was something that was not really being done much prior to that album.

It's a stretch to include sounds like Rihanna's or Gaga's in the statement, but the statement that P!nk had a big effect on what style of music a lot of people began to gravitate toward is entirely correct.
