Basically he was just responding to the allegations that she wasn't clearing her songs for Idol, but the song in question was SUBG which Kelly probably wouldn't even have the rights to since she wasn't a writer on it. I think it was just one of Simon's publicity stunts... I mean, SUBG ended up being used on the show like a day after that story broke anyway during an audition sequence
