I've gotten beat with a belt, but I knew that I did something bad, so it's not like I was just getting whipped for the sake of getting beat
It's not as big of a deal as "outsiders" try to make it out to be. Yes, some people may straddle the line of discipline and abuse, but most of the time kids already know the deal, and know if they do something bad, the belt will come out.

I'm struggling to believe you would restrain yourself. From what I've read, you are just quicker to punch people than I am - and I woulda been whipped his ass for punching me.
lolz I mean, I have a slight temper but I could never see myself putting my hands on my own child. I've always been against spanking as I feel like there are better ways to discipline them. Like talking to them & teaching them right from wrong.
And as a pre-teen, he or she would know better then to raise their hand to me. It would never go that far.
