On Thursday, Fox's "Idol" reached a new all-time ratings low against ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS' March Madness.
Fox still managed to just barely win the night in total viewers with 7.53 million viewers for the night, but its 2.0 rating among adults 18-49 put it behind ABC and CBS. The show's hour-long results episode garnered just over 11 million viewers and a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, that was the lowest rating for any "Idol" episode in the show's entire history. It was also down 7 percent from last week's results show.
This is a MESS. If they cancel, FOX should keep X Factor over Idol tbh.
I hope when Life w/ LaToya starts on April 13th on OWN, it debuts with better ratings.
Not surprising, over-saturation of reality singing shows + many of the long time viewers are middle aged housewives/cougars/their teen daughters and they have no cute white guy with a guitar to vote for so no reason to watch..
I'm loving this season though, all 5 girls are great and I always root for a lady to win anyway, hard to pick one this year though.
