I'm really curious how this list would look if we had pre-Soundscan data.

Kanye, Justin, Gaga, Britney, and N'Sync

Without the discount, it would've debuted with like 700K. And a good portion of those Amazon customers would've still bought the album at full price. Born This Way would've still made this list regardless, just at 25 behind Kanye. The 99-cent counterargument is so stale now. Accept the fact that BTW was going to debut huge regardless and move on.
