This song was meant to be her lead single from the next album before her pregnancy. Now, she's on 'The Voice', everybody loves her (62.174.454 mln fans on FB, 832.388 are 'talking about her'). Her single from 2006, Hips Don't Lie, is currently at #108 on Itunes; another from 2002 (Wherever, Whenever) just outside top200, higher than some current leads of our faves.
Will US finally appreciate her? Is Shakira going to be IT-GIRL of 2013?
The US did "appreciate" her before in 2001-02 and then again 2005-06. She just hasn't had a hit since then because She Wolf and Give It Up To Me didn't fit in the post-Gaga pop world and Americans aren't receptive to non-English music.
What makes me think that she WILL smash is that after the first week her OLD songs are higher on Itunes atm than 'Let There Be Love' and 'Make The World Move' after X's performances. Are people hungry for her new music?

People are definitely hungry for new music by her, radio here recently increased airplay of her old classics like Underneath You Clothes and La Tortura

I don't see why not. She has the exposure of The Voice every week, she can get great promo thanks to her Roc Nation management and the snippet for 'TOD' sounds like a summer smash.
I don`t think she`s gonna be the IT girl, but I see her getting some top 10 hits for sure. At least I hope so.
I`m not that excited for Truth or dare, hope that they scrap it and make it 3rd or 4th single. They must go with something better and she´s worked with sooo many people.
