Which one was/is more famous worldwide? Britney in 1999-2001 or Adele in 2011-2013?

Nobody old enough to properly have witnessed both would hesitate to say Britney.

but still. Britney at her peak, because she was the most famous person in the world. At Adele's peak, Gaga was/is more famous.

Everybody keeps talking about Britney's peak because they miss it.

The only outlandishly impressive thing about Adele's peak was her amazing albums sales. Britney had it all during her peak: the hits, the albums, the impact. So Britney >>>

No she wasn't/isn't. When Adele took over, Gaga became a complete afterthought for most people. Step out of the internet bubble.

But Britney. Britney was EVERYWHERE and constantly talked about and referenced. I was only like 8/9 at the time but I remember how huge she was.

Well, as accurate germans are, the archive of their newspaper are pretty good, so you would read that at her first german tour in 2010-11, almost only 8-12 years old kids attended the concerts.

As I witnessed the rise of Britney I refuse to say who loved to see her in addition to the 8-12 year old kids.

And if somenoe ask him-self, why Britney has today a good name on ATRL? Well, most of this 8-12 year old kids are now 20-24 years old and do post here.

Adele has had hits (ones that are considered modern classics) and has made major impact in the industry as well. If anything, Adele has had more hits out of 21 than Britney did with any of her albums. Nearly every song on 21 is recognizable for people, even the non-singles. Britney usually had 1-2 recognizable hits with each album, but most people don't recall the rest of it.

Adele is massive at the moment, but Britney was simply larger than life type of star.

Adele is not even competition. It's weird because she sells gazillion amounts of records in this day and age but she wasn't talked about that much. It's all about her music, her songs, so I guess that's better.
