She obviously has a lot of fans and this indie-pop sound she has going on is obviously hot at the moment. What's the problem?

You mean platinum coz it is gold. Her album is till very high on iTunes despite being 1.5 years ago.
US radio is not ignoring her at all IMO. Inter scope has yet to release an official single in the US beside VG . There were no performance of her songs at all in the U.S. There were no add dates either. Lana has not promote at all since like feb 2012.
VG was a WW release. (Did well charted #1 in several countries and top 5 in others)
BTD was WW as well except the U.S (did well again except U.S because it was not released.
BJ was WW except the US (did ok)
NA was for the U.K but there no promo at all for the song in the U.K (obv flop in the U.K)
SS was for Germany and some European countries and it was actually promoted in those countries ( did well obv top 5 in several countries and #1 in Poland)
Ride has no radio adds either in the U.S. it was released WW (did ok)
As you can see her release is a ****ing mess, I hope interscope figure their **** out for her next album release.
