Will ARTPOP break a million for its debut week in the US?
So will it? Born This Way sold 1.11 million copies in its first week and here is a little snippet from an old article off Billboards discussing it.
Quote:
Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 1,108,000 copies sold in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
but, with the infamous 99 cent deal from Amazon one may wonder if BTW would have actually broken a million sales.
Quote:
It's estimated that Amazon sold upwards of 440,000 downloads of its 99-cent "Born This Way" album.
Now its unfair to simply subtract 440k of buyers from 1.1 million but how many of these 440k buyers would have actually bought BTW without a sale in its first week? So what do you guys think will ARTPOP crack a million in its first week?

Some people think that she wouldn't have sold any of those 440k.

But I'm going to guess no. And that's okay
Haha Gaga makes a very interesting debate on ATRL which is why I come back to her alot . Anyways its not like I hate Lady Gaga I just don't like some of the things she does as her career but Lady Gaga is a talented artist but just not my cup of tea I suppose :O
Going off of nothing, I'm predicting 825k. Depending on the release date, the initial singles' success(es), and the album cover and other features to it all, it may go up (or, unlikely, go down).
She should sell well, but cracking 1 million again would be quite the challenge.
I'm going to say "no" for now. At least until the first single is finally released.
I dont even see her scanning a million WW tbh...BTW got past a million from the discount and how huge TF was...BTW was underwhelming for way too many people to have such sales
