These seem to be more of a rider/operator problem than the rides themselves. And notice most of them occured in the 20th century. Rollercoasters are extremely safe..not to say a freak accident is out of the realm of possibility, but as you can see this stuff RARELY occurs.

I am more concerned with some of the operators and employees. Sometimes the coaster people seem so disinterested in their work and barely checking restraints and stuff and I'm just like uhhhh

That's disgusting I'll never go to that Six Flags now. I'd just have to think "This is were this dude's head was lying around" or something

Isn't there a scene like this on Final Destination 4? I never thought this was possible. That's the creepiest thing ever.

I got that fear after I saw Final Destination III years ago. Still I went to Six Flags like december

This is why I don't go to Six Flags. I also don't go on the tall rides that drop you from high up because of the 1st story about the girl losing her feet.

In Dubai, one of playlands was closed completely after a huge metal piece fell from the Ferris Wheel.

I wish I didn't open this thread; now I'm imagining some of these scenarios in my head.

The person that got decapitated was just dumb though. Why wouldn't you just go tell the people operating the ride about your hat. What would possess them to hop the fence and grab it while the ride is going?

Some of these deaths were caused by people's stupid actions, though

This kind of stuff never worries me. Roller coasters are generally very, very safe, and I like them too much to actually let a .0001% chance or whatever stop me from riding one. These are all specific, isolated incidents, and the fact that you can easily report on each one of them shows how rare they are. You don't know the specific story of everyone who dies in car accident because they're far too frequent (I'd bet more people die in cars every day than all year on roller coasters).

Yeah, these were mostly the people's fault (in majority of them while others were accidents).

Still, I'm regretting reading that though. I don't think I'll be eating anything for awhile today. The horror.
