Honestly, I believe Mariah will be seen as more legendary after all said and done. Possibly just due to the fact she outlived her. But honestly they are both so amazing. (especially together <3 )
Whitney by far. Whitney is more important to Mariah. All of Mariah's influence, impact, success and status as an icon are really only accessories of Whitney's.
No disrespect to Whitney at all, but Mariah actually have other talent than her voice, she wrote and produced almost all of her hits, and her discography it's actually enjoyable, not just some chance to show vocal tricks, I mean, look at Whitney's discography.

You make no sense. Whitney's legendary status is independent from Mariah's, so if Mariah isn't seen as the legend she is or the legend you want her to be seen as, that has nothing to do with Whitney.
And as for her legend, Whitney Houston is viewed the way she is for good reason.
