Ive always been curious as to why Sony never attempted to make an emulation software, and make money under a PS2 category of the PSN store. They wouldnt even have to make them HD, which is what the collections would be for.

If they make a PS2 emulator, then all the work of the HD remakes would be a waste, and they'll lose money too, considering the amount of work. One thing to do, whatsoever, is to create the emulator and sell it for free/at a very reduced price for people who bought PS2 games from the PSN store, they can release it when the PS3 reaches its' end and market it as a main redeeming quality of buying an "old" console.

True. HD remakes still have a market to go for considering the emu doesn't really enhance the games that much. Heck my parents' CRT TVs are far even better than our plasma HDTV for PS2 games.
