I'll focus on Ke$ha since she's obviously the biggest problem of my faves. Her attitude, while fun, isn't helping her sell and sometimes I feel along with her kookiness she needs to be a little bit more professional with things. Sometimes it seems like she doesn't care.

She needs more "No" people instead of "Yes" people. Bey, I love you but you are too independent, let some other people help you and listen to them. I can't believe she choose RTW over EOT, even though the label was pushing for it.

and most of the time they don't even tell a story!
I agree that she wrote great lyrics like Remember When Not Enough, Nobody's Home but then there are lyrics like Goodbye, Stop Standing There, Forgotten!
Let Go remains her best lyric album where it's obvious that she didn't do much work since after this album her lyrics became vague, simple. What a pity.
