it's not been confirmed if the samples are uncleared ones, so don't go based on assumptions. It'd be wrong to falsely accuse him. Timbaland will deal with whatever sample issues he has.

I'm 99% sure that Wait For You by Furtado & What Goes Around by Justin are "sampled" too. I just don't remember the name of the songs.

You are right Wait For You and What Goes Around are sampled, I'm just saying that just because the artist in which he sampled from aren't listed in the credits doesn't mean he didn't pay to use the sample. Sometimes producers get samples cleared "under the table", they make deals. Also, there are "sample" cds, where you can use what's on the CD and you don't have to get it cleared. And I wouldn't say that Danja is the main guy behind it, but him and Tim work together as a good team and have both contributed to their recent success. I'm not saying their sharing the work 50/50, some songs could have more of Timbaland input and others more of Danja. If you know their work, you can almost tell who did what.

^u right, but i know that with danja onboard, the productions bacame more poppy, with synths and sampled electric guitars, he somehow refreshended the timbaland sound...my point is mainly: credit to where it´s due...which is both timbo and danja (artists know that, common ppl, like many on ATRL, doesn´t)....but yeah they sample....the most famous example being from the finish guy for the melody in "do it"...it was basicakky the same melody, so i say it´s pretty much stealing in that case

yes I agree Danja has refreshed Timbaland's sound. Danja doesn't receive enough credit. His name is in the booklets, but people don't realize that recently Danja has his name on almost everything Timbaland does. The sample for Do It wasn't cleared, so he did steal it. He didn't take the entire melody, only a few seconds, but stealing is stealing.

The point is to question Timbaland's creativty. Does he really PRODUCE all these good music he comes out with? or Do we have to search for the roots of each beat he brings ?

And since he doesn't credit them, and he already has a record of stealing foreign () beats. I'd prefer calling him THEIMBO <3

I wouldn't question his creativity because sampling is an art, and you have to be creative to be able to do it well. Timbaland does it very well. He samples 1-3 seconds of a song and makes it into his own adding new instruments and sounds. Aaliyah's We Need A Resolution is a great example. Whether he stole the sample or not he still PRODUCED the song, a great song or a bad one. His ideas are still in the music, he put the song together. He has some songs where his sampling is lazy. He's sampled a song, looped it over and over and added drums ie. Make Me Better. However, since he has a record of not clearing samples I am aware that when I listen to his beats that it could possibly have a sample that he didn't clear. But no it doesn't take away from his creativity. Him stealing samples shows greediness (for money, not in that he wants to take credit for someone else's work). He doesn't steal all his samples, but he has a record so...there is always the possibility.

IMO, it's not up to us to decide how wrong Timbaland is for doing whatever he does. He's "producing" music that a lot of us love. His job is to entertain us. He will most certainly be dealt with, if he needs to be. We should just be glad that we're getting the chance to hear this great music. Besides, it's interesting to me that people only talk about songs being sampled or stolen when they become hits. You rarely, if ever, hear about someone suing an artist who's "stolen" sample bombed. Take the bad with the good, peeps.

I don't like Timbaland and that's the reason I don't like "Promiscuous" and "Say It Right" from Nelly Furtado. But damn! the singles that he "produced" are so famous.

Yeah, some of them similar, and I've definately heard the Utada one of course, but sometimes, it's unavoidable and bound to happen. Perhaps he did sample some of these, but I'm sure others did it too. ;p

I love how Avril gets busted for ''Hey Hey You You'' but Timbaland is stealing whole songs and adding a hip-hop beat to it and nothing happens.

He must have had these cleared by the artists.
