The Thames, London Eye, Millennium Bridge, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the Gherkin, London Bridge, the Shard.
vs. The U.S. Bank Tower, City Hall, the Staples Center, Bunker Hill, Angles Flight, Los Angeles River (what else?)
London has more iconic structures within its skyline. Is the Hollywood sign even visible from downtown? -5 points if not.
London's skyline is actually very impressive from the ground. One minute there is a huge glass building and the next minute there's a medieval church or something. Perfect blend of old and new, such a unique city.
Oh, and a skyscraper boom is expected in London over the next few decades now that they have relaxed the laws about what you can build.
The thing about the LA skyline is that there's this old law that says that all buildings have to have flat tops so helicopters can land on them. I think they're working on reversing that now, so look for a much better LA skyline in the future.

The Hollywood Sign alone is one of the most important and iconic landmarks of all time. It is definitely more iconic than Big Ben. LA is the entertainment capital of the world and the Hollywood sign is a symbol of LA and American culture and it is known worlds over.
