i know this one girl who is always moaning on facebook how she hates the top 40 radio and she only likes those irrelevant screamo bands, and i know another girl who is like anti-pop music, and only likes country.. and she's a taylor swift fan who plays i knew you were trouble constantly..
My brother is like that with everything, movies, tv shows, music...like he'll only watch foreign language films. But the real kii is that his favorite singer is Katy Perry and he blasts Teenage Dream every time he drives in his car
LOL yes but I just let them talk. Music taste is someone's personal opinion but a lot of people can end up going on the condescending/pretentious side of things for real music vs "mainstream" taste. Some people who like "organic" music better also try way too hard to say the most unknown bands possible when I'm just like "it's okay to like some mainstream artist". But bring up anyone popular they're like "oh eww". Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone with the so-called stereotypical hipster taste but there's definitely people out there who try too hard to seem musically elite just because they listen to Fleet Foxes mixed with Fleetwood Mac, Vampire Weekend, Carole King & Mumford & Sons.
Yes, especially if they like those emo bands with annoying voices. And those classic rock fans who supposedly listen to "real music" are so annoying. Music is subjective but it doesnt mean you have to be ignorant about it.
When I was in middle school it was the "cool" thing to hate mainstream music and go for random bands that they only heard of by looking at the local hot topic board of t-shirts.
Now, not really, if I had a friend that tried to tell me how my music was then I'd just clock them and make them feel dumb
