What does female empowerment have to do with this song is what I would like to know. Bey is clearly talking to people who have bashed her in the past (Wendy being one of them hence her being mad). They were talking about controversy though. The majority of Madonna's controversies are from her progressive actions; she made thought provoking statements and pushed the boundaries to make a positive difference for what she believed in. Madonna used the necessary evils to create progression.

Beyoncé on the other hand is cussing people out and telling them to bow down. For no apparent reason.

Where is the need for such behaviour? It's come from nowhere.
