A decade? The Best Damn Thing was a pretty relevant album, and that came out in 2007!

Right now, the obvious answer is Christina. She's mid-era, still known for her role on The Voice (for the time being), and featured on a track that is performing pretty well. Avril has the clear disadvantage being between albums. Since they're at different points in the album cycle, it's hard to justify Christina being more relevant. If you give it a month (or however long it is until Avril releases her upcoming lead single), I'm sure there will be a more decisive and fair answer.

If they were that good, I don't see why she would have cancelled her tour just because her album doesn't sell but ok.

We all have a different of what being relevant is. To me, it is clearly shown by the artist's sales because it is actually the reason why this one is known for.

Xtina has the media power though, it is true.

Christina's latest hit feature will outsell Avril's whole new era again like Moves Like Jagger outsold Avril's GL era in albums, and single sales combined.
