Justin Timberlake is apparently planning to turn ‘The 20/20 Experience’ into a two part album according to Questlove of The Roots. The record, which will hit North American markets on March 19th, will represent Timberlake’s first album in seven years.
Questlove hit the Okay Player message boards where he dropped some constructive criticism about the project writing, “i will say the album is OVERLY ambitious. like a LOT of ideas crammed into one,” according HipHopWired.com.
The Roots musician then revealed just how ambitious Timberlake’s project is revealing that a follow-up is planned for November. “Spoiler alert. 20/20 Vol 2 comes out in nov. (10 songs now…..10 songs later= 20 vision),” wrote Questlove.
Questlove added that Timberlake and Timbaland were actively looking to hit an older audience with the album and explained he discussed the target demographics for the project with Timbaland. “Is he cool with the fact that only 35 year old people who love their soul in 95 bpm zone will ‘get’ this song. and he was like ‘why do we put all of our power in the hands of 18 year olds….i wanted to make a joint that 40 year olds would love too,’” wrote Questlove.
