Why are most atheists on the internet so obnoxious? In real life, 90% of my friends are atheists and they are extremely tolerant of theists. The Internet just seems to slap a label on you of being stupid/ignorant if you believe in God And I've noticed that most of the hate is directed to Christians in particular.
I'm not saying all atheists on the internet are rude. But the large majority of them are just extremely harsh on having a faith in God.
Because on the internet you can say things to people without consequences. You're not face to face with the person whose beliefs you're criticising so people don't feel compelled to keep their harsh opinions to themselves. It happens with everything really.
Probably because you go on Reddit which is a dumb site
It's not only just there. My mum asked me to go on YouTube and play some hyms for her (she's illiterate with the internet ). The comment section was filled with atheists calling the people who take hymns seriously stupid It was partly the reason why I started this thread.
Honestly, all trolls are like that.
That's what I call anyone who are ignorant enough to mock and make fun of someone else's belief's. I'm friends with a lot of Atheists and I really don't care what they believe in because it's their rights as long as the respect is returned.
You can be anything as long as you're cowarding behind a computer.
It is the other way around as well. It's just because of the it's the internet we're talking about. The same way you can easily irritate theists by saying "God doesn't exist" you can irritate atheists by saying "being gay is a sin."
People in general are just more ignorant online, I mean the comment section on any website is atrocious. That being sad I am becoming quite annoyed with 'internet atheists' quite often lately I'll post a tweet saying "I can do all things through christ who strengthens me." or something else uplifting from the bible, never directing it at anyone and I'll get 3-4 tweets back by atheists who dont follow me calling me names or making fun of my beliefs. On tumblr I'll reblog one of those text over image quotes with something from the bible and I'll get the same responses in my ask box.

Because it's the Internet. Let's not act like religious Internet people aren't as bad. Annoying Internet Atheists or Real Life Religious Killers? I think I'm okay with the former.
