The background vocals in the Holy Ground live version are miles behind Jeff/The Lord's tho. The latter are so good

Reading through the popjustice thread about Speak Now from back when I used to post there.
My first thoughts on the album:
Quote:
Amazing album. Easily AOTY. No missteps. Faves are probably the first 3 songs, 'The Story of Us', 'Enchanted', 'Better Than Revenge' and 'Innocent'.

'Never Grown Up' and 'Speak Now' are probs my least favourites but they're still great.
|
I was a mess for some of these faves. Not 'The Story Of Useless'. NOT 'Never Grows Old' being my least fave. Such basic taste.

So I was talking to Milah last night and she was like did you see what that swifty said about me? and I was like no and she told me. and I was just like appalled b/c I know a lot of you are saying bad things about them but if you saw them in person you would probably want to go say hi. They are nice and talented and Taylor put them on this tour. Honestly I was very honest with her with why you guys are mean and things people have said (no I didn’t name names) I just said that people think sometimes you over power Taylor and what not and tbh that’s a bug that needs to be worked out, it’s not intentional.
I don’t mind getting hated on. I think it’s unnecessary, but people are jealous so they decided to talk bad about me without knowing me and if you want to do that, then that just shows me you are the bad person, not me. But when you go and talk about these artists like that, there is nothing ok with that. These are people that have access to your favorite person in the world. Who go to her house and laugh with her and have a good time. would you like them to bring up to her hateful things you say? no? then probably should stop.
P.S. They are now known as the #Starlights spread the word and be resepectful. They are some of the nicest and most down to earth people I’ve ever encountered. I gave them all bracelets the night before and tonight Eliotte was wearing it! How sweet is that? They don’t deserve your hate and you oh I miss liz, this is awful. I miss Liz too, but be happy for her, she’s living her dream. you don’t dream of being someone’s back up singer, you dream of being a solo artist and she’s doing that! Things change and it’s hard and it sucks sometimes but you have to accept it.
Milah was asking me if people were mad at Matt b/c he replaced Al and I told her no not really, most don’t even know Al and if they were sad about it, it was just b/c he was the first member of the Agency but not b/c they really had a relationship with him. Most people don’t even know who he is.
So just please be respectful. this is an example of meanness.

Rude.
I actually like Melanie. I plan on meeting her outside the arena when I go. Just like Grant, Paul, and Caitlin.

I recall some disciples in here hating on the back-up singers.

That response was very unnecessary and rude, especially since it was tweeted at her. Although I'm not a fan of them being a part of Her band, they seem very nice and are talented.

Ms. Swift, through a publicist, declined to comment for this article. But Scott Borchetta, founder and chief executive of Big Machine Records and the man widely credited with her rise, said he believed the Vanity Fair quote was taken out of context, and voiced confidence in her staying power. “She’s so grounded,” he said. “This isn’t a person who’s going to wake up half-naked, drunk in a car somewhere in Hollywood.”

Mr. Levitt pointed out that this year Ms. Swift’s negative Q score, a 21, topped her positive number for the first time.
“It’s not the scores of an extraordinary performer that has substantially more positive than negative, like Tom Hanks or Will Smith,” he said. “There’s almost an equal number that rate her fair or poor. What you can surmise from that is that her rating is a function of age groups. The positive must be coming from younger age groups. A good part of the negative is from older people.”

Designers are increasingly willing to lend Ms. Swift red-carpet gowns, said Alana Varel, a founder of Starworks Group, a company that pairs celebrities with clients like Miu Miu, Prada and Bulgari, including Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Weisz and Julianne Moore for the jeweler.
Ms. Swift has already registered approval among fashion commentators this year, particularly when in white, like the Grecian-style gown with metallic beaded straps by J. Mendel that she wore to the Grammy Awards in February, and a plunging Ralph Lauren cap-sleeved dress at the People’s Choice Awards in January.
“She’s hitting her stride in style,” Ms. Varel said.
