Well if I remember correctly, Interscope didn't like the music Gaga had originally and it WAS suppose to be released in 2012, but they made her re-record it, which is why it was delayed. Then the whole hip thing happened which probably pushed it back a bit more.
Two years is a very reasonable time span for albums. It's just that since she was silent from the musical world last year, the wait feels endless.
I still don't get why Interscope (and she, probably) chickened out at the thought of another single. Like yeah, MTN flopped, but they never knew if other singles would do better (or worse).

That's never been proven. I doubt the album was ever supposed to come out in 2012. She wouldn't have had the time to promote it.

According to Interscope they were OK with releasing an album in Middle 2012 but Gaga was the one who wanted to wait ...
I'm sorry that Gaga writes and records her own songs whilst being heavily and deeply involved in the production. You may want new music from her right this second, but I trust that she will release new material when she feels it's completed.
She wrote and recorded most of BTW on her tour bus because she didn't have time to do so elsewhere. She is finally taking a break to rework her album and make sure the lyrics, vocals, and production are above anything she has previously released. I appreciate her dedication and I respect her decisions. We will get it when it is ready.
It's a normal release time but the thing that worries me is that Gaga's best work always seems to be the "rushed" stuff. TFM was written relatively quickly (even though it's only 8 tracks) mostly on a tour bus and every single track was pretty much flawless. HML on BTW wasn't recorded until a couple weeks before it was sent out and that ended up being one of, if not the best song on the album
The longer the wait, the more I feel she is going to pick at it until it ends up becoming worse than it should be
It takes longer when artists actually put efforts into their album.. Writing and finding the right production can take months of your time.. The don't all use writing teams you know
Does it also take time when your efforts don't work because you took your time and flop while other are superbassing you big time ?
Her best work is The Fame Monster and that took the least amount of time to make.
In all honesty, she should have waited to announce details and let things stay rumors. It's almost cruel to fans pushing their hopes up that something will come soon, when soon is a year away.
