As we all know there are a lot of children in foster care, because their parents cannot take care of them. Right now there's a big issue between Turkey and The Netherlands over the fact that Islamic foster children that are placed in The Netherlands can be placed with gay couples.

A lesbian couple and their 9-year-old Turkish son have gone into hiding after their house had already been guarded and secured for a while. All this happened because of severe commotion and the fact that the boy's biological mother, who lives in Turkey, wants her son back because of the fact that they placed him with a lesbian couple. The mother enlisted the help of Turkish prime minister Erdogan, who will be visiting The Netherlands next week, to get her son away from the lesbian couple.

The Dutch people are disgusted by the mother (and her supporters) because of their beliefs and ideas and point out that he wasn't placed into a foster family because he was doing so well... He has been doing great for years in his new foster family though.
Once again the Dutch people are clashing with Turkish people (also with a lot of the Turkish people that live and were born here) because of their ideas and are flat-out asking them why they came here if they don't agree with our country's culture and ideas and are telling them to just go back to Turkey if they can't deal

Dutch sources are reporting both countries are heading for a diplomatic riot, with Turkish parliament claiming they have every right to interfere with the way our (Dutch) foster care is arranged and them stating that the child belongs to their race (THE IGNORANCE AND ARROGANCE to claim that the Turkish are a race of their own ).

It has also been revealed the child was placed into foster care because the boy's mother neglected to take care of him + the lesbian couple and their son are hiding because there was an indication that there was a plan to kidnap the child and take it away from the two women.

The vice Prime Minister has stated that the Turkish Prime Minister should not bring up the subject when he visits our country next week and has deemed it inappropriate. He has said it'd be arrogant/presumptuous for him to meddle in the way that our country has arranged foster care

In a surprising turn of events the entire debate is spinning out of control and not only Geert Wilders' PVV has stated that the Turkish people in The Netherlands that have a problem with gay foster parents should just leave the country, but other political parties are supporting him and his comments for once. Over 5000 Turkish people in The Netherlands have already indicated they will be protesting gay foster parents next week and now the Dutch people are organizing a protest against the protest and are standing up for their culture and values in a way that I had never seen before. Even Dutch citizens that are not necessarily okay with homosexuality are defending the rights of the gays as it has become a fight for culture and nationality. Will be updating this post, because the situation seems to be escalating and this might become real bad real soon

Maybe the mother regretted the fact she gave her son up for adoption and using the fact that the adopting parents are lesbian as an excuse to get him back.

Do you know what you sound like? The son wasn't adopted, he's in a foster family, which should tell you she is UNFIT to take care of her son. Also, the fact you would rather use the argument "The foster family is gay, I want him back" instead of just "I love my son/I regret my decision, want him back" is crazy, I'd hate my mother for that for the rest of her/my life. Also, I don't see her winning this, gays have equal rights to straights here

The mother obviously wasn't capable of taking care of her child so she shouldn't be complaining that he's now getting the care he needs.

If a gay couple can provide a loving home for a foster child, then that's fine with me.

This basically sums it up for me. I'm Dutch myself, and i have no problems with anyone from anywhere living here. But they will have to accept our culture here, being that we are are very tolerant and accept most lifestyles. Don't get me wrong, i understand that can be difficult, but if it is too difficult then the Netherlands is not for them.

Mess really. I don't get why so many people are against gay people. It really just is beyond me.

I don't know if it's the same family but they interviewed one of the foster kids on tv and he said that the lesbian couple wasn't good to them and brainwashing them to hate guys and change their genders.

Poor kids tho. Both their actual family and the new one suck.

Most muslims hate gays, so this will never work.

So what's the dutch culture?

Ofcourse a foster child is going to be very critical to his Dutch parents when he's being interviewed on Turkish television. If there were real issues with the foster parents something would've happened way earlier.

Islamic values are very deeply rooted in Turkish culture and tolerance towards homosexuals is unsurprisingly not one of them for most inhabitants of that country. Especially the Turks who live in the country rather than in cities, because they are mostly more attached to those values. And it is mostly Turks from the country who decide to move to Western European (to the Netherlands in this case) countries.

I've got a friend who lives in Leiden in the Netherlands, he says there's a really big problem with North African/Arab gangs in the area.

He's been attack on homophobic grounds more than once by them.
