I've been thinking about this for awhile now, but do you think high school popularity is overrated? It doesn't get you anywhere in life once you graduated, sure you'll still have friends afterwards but what else will you have?

Definitely. It can make those four years easier but in the grand scheme of things, it's completely irrelevant. Nobody cares if you were popular at high school once high school is actually over.

Mind you, this is coming from someone who is/was the complete opposite of popular.

Wait people actually seek for HS popularity in real life?
I thought it was some stupid cliché for poorly written tacky american comedies.

My school is kinda different. no one is really popular, we all respect each other for the most part.. I mean there are the pretty girls who are obviously superior, but most of them are down to earth and don't act like it. Its different, i know.

Yes, it is. But it's so much easier to say now that I'm out of high school.
When I was in that place getting bullied every day, all I wanted was to "fit in" and be accepted despite it all being superficial garbage. It's a different mindset in there.

God yes, the definition of. None of that matters once you graduate. You fall out of contact with majority of the people you graduated with, (at least I did) Being popular in HS is overrated in every since of the word. Popularity doesn't get the work done for you, doesn't study for your tests or quizzes or anything.

Yeah, it is overrated. Highschool is a place filled with different people. The real deal starts when you go into university/college. Make a lot of good friends so you make connections in the future.

Well obviously after HS it's useless. Most people dont even talk to the people they met in HS save a couple few good friends. People only mention who was popular and such later in life during jokes or at reunions lol

I had friends, but I wasn't the MOST popular, and thank God for that, because a lot of those people remember high school as their "glory days". The star football player of the school dropped out of college after 1 year, is living in the same town, & is a volunteer football coach at the same high school.

I'd rather shine later. Most people lose track of each other not too long down the road after high school anyway.

The popular kids in my HS were the ones that sold drugs during lunch and had sex parties in the auditorium.

Yes. No one talks about high school when it's over. I graduated two years ago and now it's a distant memory, no one cares really.

Duh. Try to use the fact that you were popular in 10th grade when you're 23 and trying to get a job Literally 95% of what goes on in high school is completely and utterly useless. Most people only keep 1 high school friend with them for life, if that. After you graduate nobody gives a **** about whether you were popular or not. It's not like that in college and people find that out right quick

Well in my case, my popularity naturally built up as High School went on because I just focused on being myself, having fun and enjoying life. People KNEW me even when i didn't know who they were.

But I do think that, high school popularity that comes from people not being themselves IS overrated. If you become popular naturally then it isn't overrated.
