I had surgery a couple years ago and they had to put me to sleep. It was weird because I have literally NO memory of falling asleep or being asleep. I just remember waking up. Ever since then, I've thought that's what death would be like. Like, you're just asleep. But there are no dreams, no nothing. Just blackness.

That's because the brain is active. When you die the brain dies, so it may be nothing after death. We may never know because everyone who has ever died never came back.

We don't know jacksh*t about how life came to be and why and how we were created; how can we be sure what happens after death?

I don't believe in anything after death. I wish I could take comfort in the belief that there's some heaven or afterlife that exists, but I just can't. I need evidence to believe something like that, and of course there is none. When we die we just.. stop existing I guess? I'm not a believer of reincarnation either, though the prospect does intrigue me.

I hate thinking about this, yet I do it every single day.

I just don't know anymore, growing up in fantasies and suddenly getting slapped by reality was hard. I don't know where I stand but I just WISH there's like something.

What scares me the most is my family dying and me living while knowing I'm not going to see them again...

It's kinda fascinating how we come out of insides and we end up inside, we don't walk in the beginning and we don't walk in the end, we had no teeth in the beginning and when we grow we have no teeth left, our memories were weak and they're gonna be weak again, talking about those who live till they're old.

It's like a big cycle. A lot of 'what if's come up in my mind and I hope that one day we get those questions answered.

I don't know, and I don't think anyone does.

I think there are some things which as humans we don't have the capacity to understand, and I think death is one of them. I would like to think there is an afterlife, and part of me refuses to believe there isn't, but perhaps that is just human instinct.

All I know is that we have this wonderful life now and we must make the most of it.

What I will say, though, is that I think it is arrogant and narrow-minded to say 'there is definitely no afterlife'. Think about it, we are all living on some random rock in the middle of a huge dark space we know nothing about. We don't know anything as humans, and we create all these rules, beliefs and conventions to make up for that. I wouldn't be surprised if everything we know about science is wrong too - it is simply beyond our understanding.

When you die, you just lose yourself. No afterlife, no heaven, no hell. Just nothing. That's just the way it is.

How can you be so certain though?

My positive theory:

A member said you feel how you felt before your birth. It makes sense. Our souls are energy imo. And before you were born you had no energy/soul. It's hard to express myself in English, i might sound silly but your mother gives you a part of her energy when she gives you birth. And the actual source of that energy is God.

When we die that energy goes back to God. ( But this God maybe different from the Gods in religions.) I don't know if we will still have consciousness without a brain tho but i think the whole universe is an eternal energy recycle or **** my theory still has lots of plot holes.

But there are so much theroies one can think. We can never be sure.

And isn't it possible for all humans to have an emotional connection. It may explain things like 6th sense or feeling uneasy for no reason at all.

I remember one day I fell asleep totally drunk and I was like when I woke up the next day I did not remember anything from the previous night. Nothing at all. No feelings, no dreams... just nothing. I was so grateful that I woke up Now I know nothing happens when you're dead.

do you remember anything before your existence of being born? no. so we won't after we cease to exist. l do think there's a spiritual world though, we'll just never be aware of it.

its funny to think, no matter who you are in the world, all humans have the same fate & we'll all be equal at the end
