It's a massive list of "List of Type of Music," and the right column are the majors which are the "Genres of Music."
It works by you coming up with 5-10 lesson plans, as you please PM the students the lesson plans. Each plan should have a question on their opinion, no right or wrong answers, they just get credited for answering, there 5 open ended questions are worth 25% for participation, then
the end of 1st week, there is Midterm Quiz/Exam, which is 25 % of the final grade,
then the end of 2nd week, or term, there is a cumulative Final Exam, which is 50% of the final grade.
All students need a 60% to pass. Letter grades are assigned from D to A, with each having a 10% increasing interval from 60-69 is D, then 70 is C, 80 is B, and ... so on, pretty basic with the grading. If you are failing too many students then you are making it too hard, and same otherwise if you are giving easy A's then it's too easy. Find you students and challenge, which is the purpose of this University.
...BUT the grading system is up to you. That was just suggestion. You are ultimately responsible for your students' success.

I will be teaching Electronic Music. So, now I'm waiting for students to apply for my course?

You don't have to. I'll just add it to semester's schedule of classes. If students don't sign up the full 5 courses, I will automatically sign them up for 5 courses with most priority. Yours might not be having the most priority because it's a Concentration Education course.
COURSE OFFERINGS: ..starting this Friday, March 15, 2013.
1. Algebra (SAT based) - fulfills General Education (Mathematics);
It might help you for high school or college entrance exams.
2 options: junior algebra exam or college algebra exam; cannot be double dipped for 6 credits
2. Billboard Hot 100 - fulfills Music Education requirements
3. General Studies - fulfills Music Education requirements
4. Biology and Music - fullfills General Education (Natural and Physical Sciences)
-3 options: General Biology, Plant Biology, and Animal Biology
-only difference is the final exam you take; you may take 2 final exams or double dipping to fulfill your 6 credits requirement
-option to take Biology and Music essay exam for 3 credits in Music/Concentration Education
5. English - fulfills General Education
-3 options: Formal, Speech, and Writing
-again, same as biology differences, but you write essays and give speeches
6. Geography - fulfills General Education
-will be taught by ImARudeBoy
7. Electronic Music - fulfills Music Education and/or Concentration Education
-will be taught by cypriotpcdfan

Yes that's correct. What do you want study in? If you want a short commitment then Associate Degrees to long commitment which is the International Bachelors.

Yes ...oh and for General Studies course, you can make it any course you want, so in your case you want to major in Rock Music, you might do your final exam/ essay for the class in General Studies and have it count for both Music Education and Concentration/Major Education credits.

okay, thanks for the info! I'm still a bit confused about this tbh but I'm sure I'll figure it out as I go along
so this semester, I want to take Algebra and Geography for General Education, and Hot 100, General Studies and Electronic Music for General Education.

I will try to make it easy to understand as we go along. I have we all have some fun learning and also exploring different subjects in general studies and also music studies.
Thank you for confirming which courses you want to take so it makes my work a little bit easier, so I don't have to assign courses for you. ... and I think the General Studies, Hot 100, and Electronic Music count for Music Education not General Education. General Education usually involves the classical courses like Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts.

Here's the format of the grading: (I just copied from a previous conversation)
There are 5 open ended questions total worth of 25% of the final grade for participation, then
at the end of the 1st week, there is Midterm Quiz/Exam, which is 25 % of the final grade,
then at the end of the 2nd week, or term, there is a cumulative Final Exam, which is 50% of the final grade.

awesome it just looks like a lot to take in right now with the different classes and requirements but I'm sure once we get started it will all become pretty clear, also how the classes are gonna look like and such. I agree, I'm sure this will be a great experience that it both fun and interesting!
oh yeah, I accidentally put down General Ed again, I meant Music Education of course

Yep I think once we get rolling with more members participating as students and professors we will have an articulated education experience.
I hoping to have at least 10 courses available for each term, we will of course switch off the courses, so new courses are offered at the 2nd semester/ term.
Yep you did

Hot 100
Algebra
General Studies
They start tomorrow or Friday. I say they will last for 1 week, instead of 2 like the rest, since they are our first courses.
I will post 1 lesson plan per 1-2 days.
We have 2 exams per course: Midterm and Final Exam.
|
Hmm sign me up for Friday lol I have free time then.
