I don't see why people are saying the decision isn't up to her.
She only signed a 6 album contract.

By break she mean's release in december instead of november.

I know she works incredibly hard but lawyers, doctors, teachers, etc don't take year-long breaks...NOBODY else does, I don't know why it's viewed as a "necessary" or good thing for singers to do so. She only does it because she can, I assure you the art directors, dancers, lighting people, etc who work with her can't afford to take off a year to "unwind" or "find themselves" or whatever.

Of course they can, Greasy is just saying it's not necessary. A musician doesn't work any harder than the average American so people should stop pretending like Rihanna or anyone else releasing an album a year is a recipe for disaster (exhaustion) when working year round is what most people do to survive with much more stress and heavy lifting to bear as a burden. If a musician wants to take time off to work on their craft or just enjoy time off, that's totally fine but if they choose not to than there's nothing wrong with that

She might take a break from touring, and performances but I'm pretty sure were going to get a few radio releases and videos.... I sort of feel like PIU was a test to see how well a single of hers would do without any promo! Rihanna is like a drug dealer in the music industry, she's going to sale it while she's still hot

Well, the difference is that previously when the album sales were high, they got all 3 years on tour, now is for many artists some kind of permanent touring.
